The second half of the first season of Star Trek: Prodigy is currently streaming on Paramount+ but the first half is being packaged together for a new home video release coming in January.
Prodigy season 1, volume 1
The first season of Star Trek: Prodigy has a total of 20 episodes, with the first ten streaming from last October to early February of this year. Today Nickelodeon and Paramount Home Entertainment officially announced the release of the first ten episodes as “Volume 1” of the first season for release on Blu-ray and DVD, arriving on January 3, 2023.
The 3D animated series aimed at younger audiences has drawn high praise here at TrekMovie and among many fans and in the entertainment media for its high production values and smart stories that respect Star Trek lore. The show begins in the Delta Quadrant with a group of alien kids who find an abandoned Starfleet ship (the experimental USS Protostar) and set off on adventures, with a little help from the onboard Janeway Emergency Training Hologram, voiced by Star Trek: Voyager’s Kate Mulgrew.
The Blu-ray and DVD set includes never-before-seen bonus content along with exclusive cards featuring key art from the series.
