Jessie Buckley will be honored at the 2023 Oscar Wilde Awards. A press release announced that the Oscar-nominated Irish actress will be presented with an award at the annual event run by the US-Ireland Alliance. The ceremony will take place March 9.

“When Jessie started her career, Andrew Lloyd Webber said that Jessie is ‘an extraordinary artist. She must not be allowed to be meddled with,’” US-Ireland Alliance president Trina Vargo shared in a statement. “Her incredible, authentic performances show that she hasn’t been.”

Every year, the Oscar Wilde Awards recognize the contributions of Irish-Americans in the U.S. film industry as part of the nonprofit’s mission to “bring together the creative energy of American and Irish artists,” per the US-Ireland Alliance’s site

Following her breakout role in “Wild Rose,” a 2018 pic about an aspiring country singer, Buckley has gone on to appear in titles such as “Fargo,” “Men,” and “The Lost Daughter.” She received an Oscar nomination for the latter, Maggie Gyllenhaal’s adaption of Elena Ferrante’s novel of the same name. Later this month, Buckley will be seen in “Women Talking,” starring alongside Rooney Mara and Claire Foy in a story of abuse and survival in a religious colony. Sarah Polley wrote and directed the Oscar contender. It hits theaters December 23.

It was previously announced that “The Banshees of Inisherin’s” Kerry Condon will also be honored at the event.
